Leaders of the American Cocktail Revolution
As mentioned in the Welcome Message, Food & Wine magazine has declared 2006, “The Year of the Cocktail”. Along with this increased focus on cocktails, they have recognized that some bartenders have as much influence as celebrity chefs when you are talking about creativity and direction in the world of cocktails.
In the January issue they have recognized five up and comers and published a few of their cocktail recipes. The profiled bartenders are:
- Joseph Schwartz, Little Branch, NYC;
- Duggan McDonnell, Frisson, San Francisco;
- Ben Dougherty, Zig Zag Cafe, Seattle;
- Lucy Brennan, Mint/820, Portland OR;
- Ryan McGrale, No. 9 Park, Boston
