Blog Carnivals and Mixology Monday…
A couple of our blog contemporaries have decided that its time to start cocktail blog events, much the way the food blogs have Is My Blog Burning? and several other regular events or the vino lovers have Wine Blogging Wednesday.
So far I’ve come across two planned series of events. The first, at least chronologically, is being sponsored by Days That End in “Y” and is called a Blog Carnival. The first one has no theme, other than drinking. Write a post, submit it by this Sunday night (that little form looks cool!) and there you go! If you are interested in hosting an upcoming carnival check out the site for more information. It looks like they plan to have this event every Monday! I don’t see a theme for the second one but it is scheduled for April 24th.
Mixology Monday is being promoted by Cocktail Chronicles and The Art of Drink. The inaugural event for this one will be Monday April 24th - submissions due Sunday night by midnight. Hmmm, no mention of a time zone so I guess midnight your time. They even have a logo already designed! The theme of the first event is Pastis, that lovely (or not so lovely, depending on your tastes) anise liqueur. The second event, scheduled for May 1 (Happy May Day!) is coffee liqueur. Check out the two sites to get all the details.

Actually, for Mixology Monday submissions are due MONDAY night, April 24 (midnight wherever you are is fine); just post it on your blog and e-mail the host a link. We’ll post a roundup a day or so afterwards.
Following the first two events, on 4/24 and 5/1, we’ll probably spread them out to every 3 or 4 weeks.
Everyone’s welcome to join–you don’t have to be a cocktail blogger to participate (and non-bloggers can just e-mail a submission to the host, or post it in the comments).
Thanks for posting this!
