Sangria: Fun and Festive Recipes

SangriaI mentioned this little book, Sangria: Fun and Festive Recipes, in this last week’s Happy Hour at Home post.

It is such a great book, I wanted to share a bit more about it with you. First, sangria is a perfect party beverage. It generally is best if made ahead of time; it’s easiest to make a batch that will serve any number from two or three on up; and once made, guests can help themselves with little or no extra work involved.

When speaking of sangria many people think of something similar to the recipe in the Happy Hour at Home post but there are many types of sangria. This book is organized by the base wine used in the recipe: Sangria Tinta (red wine); Sangria Blanca (white wine); Sangria de Cava (sparklers); and Sangria Rosada y Sangria Moscatel (rosés and muscatel); and a final chapter with a (very) few tapas recipes.

You will find interesting and refreshing sounding recipes such as Stone Fruit Zurra (one of my favorites); Blood Orange and Campari Sangria; and Cucumber Pimm’s Sparkling Sangria. Sangria concoctions all follow similar steps and by studying the recipes in this book, not only will you find some great ideas but soon you’ll be off creating on your own.

So get a head start on summer now - pick up this little book or start researching sangria recipes and then plan a party to try them out!
