Traveling Champagne
I tend to travel by myself quite often - it started back when I used to do a lot of business travel. After being out on the road so many times on my own, I came to actually enjoy it. You have total freedom over what you do and when you do it! Now don’t get me wrong - I like traveling with people, too. But, for me, being on my own has some great advantages.
I’m lucky in that not only do I enjoy meeting and talking with people but I’m good at it and so I generally have no problem going out for meals or cocktails on my own. But every now and then either I just want to curl up in my hotel room for an evening or maybe the circumstances don’t seem right for being out on my own. I just don’t think that is any reason to forego a cocktail, however!
These little mini-champagnes are the perfect answer! Small enough to stick in a handbag or carry on, they are a perfect size. They also come with their own “flute”. What more can you ask? Once you pop the cork, you snap in the little plastic top and, wallah! You are ready to go. Since they are so small, they are easy to tuck into a minibar fridge or pop into your ice bucket to cool them down.
I imagine they would be good for camping, too - either car-camping or even when you hike in. Although you’d have to pack the bottle back out. But one or two for a special treat might be fun.
I believe they are available year-round but I tend to see them most often around the holidays when sparkling wine supplies are up in general. They come in three or four packs. So I just pick up a couple packs and store them away until I want them for a trip.
This little guy was consumed on my last trip to Vancouver - Champagne, cowboy mix and water - the good life!

Haven’t seen those before, but I’ll definitely be looking now - how cool is that?!
