Liquor Cabinets/Bars
Have you been looking for a good place to stash your hooch? Besides the cabinet over the refrigerator, which seems to be the location of choice for many families, there are tons of free-standing solutions. Your options are limited only by your imagination.
Visit any furniture or import store and you are bound to see various solutions. Some will be designated as wine or liquor cabinets while others ideas can be found by just looking at the various storage options.
You may want to go for something traditional such as the pieces found on GreatHomeBars.com. They have a wide range of both indoor and outdoor bars and their categorizations by price, material, finish and style makes it easy to quickly get to those pieces you are most interested in viewing. Another site with several options is homeportfolio. While you cannot purchase directly from the site, if you find something you like their service will help you locate a dealer in your area.
If you live near a Crate and Barrel you may want to pop in to check out their Steamer Bar Cabinet with plenty of room for bottles, glasses and various supplies. Ikea has an affordable option with their Hedsta cabinet. Or perhaps something like Pier 1’s Honshu 2-Door Cabinet or CB2’s envelope credenza are more to your style. Neither of these is a liquor cabinet, per se, but both have plenty of storage and adjustable shelves - two key features when looking for a good home bar storage solution.
For some fun and funky options check out the Classicon Pandora and the Vitra Barboy.
If space is an issue perhaps something like this little bar cart from Ship the Web would do the trick.
The important thing to remember when shopping for a home bar is to make sure you know various measurements of items you wish to store. Most liquor bottles stand at about 12″ tall but some, such as Frangelico bottles are closer to 14″.
