Hangar One Announces Scheduled Tours

When I visited St. George Spirits/Hangar One back in May I felt privileged to have been allowed to tour the facility and talk to the distiller as they don’t normally offer tours. Mandarin Wall Art Or I should say “didn’t” normally offer tours.

Starting August 19th they will offer tours on Saturdays at 1:00 pm. This time was chosen so that you can hop on the 11:50 ferry departing from the San Francisco Ferry Building and have plenty of time to get to the hangar by 1:00. From real experience I can tell you once on the Alameda side it’s about a 10 minute - 15 tops - walk from the ferry landing to the Hangar One building.

Remember to be aware of return ferry departure times! And don’t miss one by 10 or 15 minutes, as I did. There’s about a 2 hour wait in between departures and other than the distillery there’s not a lot to do in the area. It seemed like a pretty long walk into Alameda proper.

Still I highly recommend taking advantage of the offer! It’s an interesting place and great to see how committed everyone there is to making finely crafted products.
