London Pubs - The White Horse
You’ve heard a lot about The White Horse in Oxford, now it’s time to hop on the train and head to the southwest for another, bigger White Horse. Within walking distance of the Parsons Green tube stop is another large pub called The White Horse. As with many of the pubs I visited in London this one was architecturally satisfying—high ceilings, frosted glass, dark wood bar with brass fittings. But aside from a few trips into the pub to see what was on tap I didn’t spend a much time inside the pub. It was such a nice day, I had my lunch in the courtyard out in front of The White Horse.
I was in England to sample of the cask conditioned ale, but just about everyone else was there to try the Belgian beers. At The White Horse, there is an extensive selection of Belgians on the beer menu.
The White Horse had more than just pub grub. The menu featured some pretty fancy dishes at some fancy prices. This was pub fare taken to the next level. My dish was called Fish Pie, but it was the nicest looking Fish Pie I’ve ever seen. A+ for presentation.
To slake the thirst I started with a Rooster’s Yankee, an amber colored brew that didn’t last very long in my glass. I paired my Fish Pie with a cask conditioned wheat beer called The Outlaw. It reminded me just a little of a Belgian Wit. It was a glowing straw color and had a slightly sour bite to it that made it extremely refreshing.
If you ever find yourself in London, don’t miss this one.

This really gets me itching to make another trip across the pond. I love English and Irish pubs. So relaxing, and just great beer and grub!
