More Gift and Entertaining Ideas
In early November we took a look at a few things you might need for holiday entertaining. Well, you may still need or want a few things or you may now be looking for a gift for a cocktail loving friend. My mailbox has been filled with catalogs on a nearly daily basis and those catalogs contain some fun ideas I thought I’d share with you.
Sur la Table
Sur la Table has all kinds of interesting barware. While not always the most cost effective place to shop they do have plenty of unique offerings. You can find something basic and useful like the Rosle Boston Shaker, a retro Ice Crusher, or quick release Ice Cube Trays.
For something a bit more luxurious or frivolous there’s the Red Faux-Leather Ice Bucket and Flask, an Ice Maker to supplement what you can make in the fridge and Soft Touch Barware. If you are still looking for glassware you can be seasonal with Reindeer Barware or more versatile with Splash Glassware.
To see all of Sur la Table’s offerings check out their All Barware section.
Red Envelope
For cocktails on the go, check out the Leather Travel Bar or Leather Flask. For entertaining at home there’s the gorgeous Cordoba colored glasses or Cordoba clear glasses - both currently marked down. Monogrammed Tumblers would be a fun thing to have or an Etched ice bucket would be useful as well as beautiful. To see more ideas check their Bar + Wine + Cigars section.
CB2
Some time ago we looked at Bar Cabinets and I wish this one had been around at the time! Perfect for a small apartment the Speakeasy Dining Table combines the daily need of a dining table with bar storage!
Nearly everyone has some version of an Ice Bucket as does CB2. They have some new glass offerings including these colorful Old-Fashioneds and Libertini Cocktail Glasses. For mixing up a batch of cocktails to use in those glasses choose the Slope or Versar Martini Pitcher. And for final garnish of the drinks here are some options for Cocktail Stirrers or Picks and Stainless Steel cocktail picks.
Linens -n- Things
LNT has all kinds of glasses including the Confetti Martini Set, Courbé Martini Glasses and the super affordable 12 piece Martini Glass Set. Then there is their offering of the Stainless Steel Ice Bucket or Stainless Steel Flask. Finally, jazz up your parties or home bar with the Martini Neon Lamp.
Some other fun things we’ve come across are:
- Cool Jewels ice cubes Also carried by Z Gallerie and Urban Outfitters
- Z Gallerie has a whole bunch of cool barware
- Ice Kabobs
- Boxed Red Martini Glasses
- Professional Ice Crusher
- And, if you happen to live in Brooklyn you may be able to pick up one of the PUG Muddlers at Lennels

Brenda - A bottle of your homemade limoncello would make an outstanding gift.
