The DIY of Sparkling Vodka! So, would that create more of a chance of hangover, though? I'm thinking that when they use the Carbonation method for sparkling wine that generally has adverse affects on my head. I think it's one of the reasons people don't like sparklers - when they were young they started with the cheap stuff and it had that effect so they've never gone on to the "good" stuff which really only affects you when you over-indulge.

Hmm, I feel an experiment coming on...

It's easy to carbonate your own vodka (or any spirit). Just take a normal soda siphon, and fill it with "spirit of your choice" instead of water, and then without using the "long straw thing" (I'm sure there is a technical term :-) replace the top and "charge" the siphon up. Let it sit for about 20 minutes to allow the carbonation to "dissolve" (actually "equalize") into the spirit, then release the excess gas, and pour.

You could charge it with the straw thing in place, but then you'd be pouring the spirit under pressure.

I've had Tequila carbonated like this, and it was quite interesting.
