I usually use Grande Marnier instead of the 151 to "smoke" the glass and carmelize the sugar, otherwise the recipe is exactly the same. Excellent!

I make mine with Grand Marnier instead of brandy. I've also done it with Godiva Chocolate Liquer for a Spanish Mocha. Both are tasty variations.

[...] Finally I like to top them with milk chocolate shavings and enjoy! These cupcakes are great to have with a spanish coffee in the afternoon but even just with a glass of milk they are very tasty. Hope you enjoy! [...]

Thank you for posting the recipe. I had one of these last week at an auction and what a drink.
It also helped loosing purse strings of bidders.

I tried one of these last night at McCormick & Schmick. Not only was it a delightful light show, it was a killer drink. I felt giddy after just one. Very tasty, highly recommended.

Hi Sondra! Yes, depending on what you actually need to accomplish that day, it could be interesting! :-) But, you can also go with a decaf coffee for a nice evening treat, too!

I could actually, sort of, "Smell" your wonderful warming Spanish coffee. What a great idea, can't wait to try it. Here in California where the temperatures have gotten down in the 20s, this good be an interesting way to start the day.
