Make Your Mark Thanksgiving Recipes
An interesting idea - base your entire Thanksgiving meal around one drink. That’s what Makers Mark would like you to do at any rate.
Not actually drink the stuff - although I am sure they would like you to do that as well - but to use Makers Mark in all the dishes. Sounds a bit, well, you know, a bit, yeck. Until you come to read the menu. There is the slightly obvious Makers Mark Gravy but Bourbon Creamed Corn, Apricot Holiday Bread and Happy Cranberries have me salivating.
And of course you would end with Southern Pecan Bourbon Pie and/or Sweet Potato Pie. Full recipes can be downloaded here (Thanksgiving Recipes PDF). To set the day off well though how about a glass or two of Kentucky Mulled Cider?
Kentucky Mulled Cider
1 cup Maker’s Mark Kentucky Bourbon
4 cups cider
1 lemon
6 cloves
½ tsp. allspice (ground)
2 small sticks cinnamon
Combine Maker’s Mark and cider. Add 1 thinly sliced lemon with rind, cloves, allspice and sticks of cinnamon. Heat to boiling point and serve.
