I use Punt e Mes as a "dialed-up" version of sweet vermouth :->

To provide a softer version of Campari, I'll turn to either Cynar or Aperol. They both work far better for that in different ways.

I've often used Carpano's Punt e Mes as a "dialed-down" version of Campari for bitter-sensitive friends. How does Aperol compare to that liqueur? Which one do you like better?

I don't know about Aperol being found 'more often these days.' Skyy Spirits just dropped them here in California and they have been picked up by Palm Bay. I am not sure if this smaller comany will have the marketing power to get Aperol on more shelves.

I hope I wrong about this, Aperol has a definate place in American Cocktails.

I'll be eagerly trying your new cocktail tonight. I wanted to let you know, though, that Jamie Boudreau beat you to the clever name.

I really enjoy Aperol, especially in the classic Aperol Spritz (Aperol and Prosecco over ice). It's great as a replacement for Campari in the classic Negroni, as well as the Boulevardier.
