Did You Know - Book Signing Record

Did You Know?A 10 year long record has just been broken. Back in his day British wine writer Malcolm Gluck signed 1,001 books with his full signature in 59 minutes.

But this remarkable achievement has just been broken by Sir Salman Rushdie of all people. Rushdie, during a US book tour, managed to inscribe his name on 1,000 copies of his The Enchantress of Florence, in just 57 minutes.

Gluck is quoted in the Sunday Times as being ‘magnanimous in defeat’, “If it’s true, I’m humbled”, he said.

The new record holder is slightly less magnanimous, saying, ”His record is toast”.

Am I missing something? It seems obvious that Rushdie COULD have signed one more book with the additional two minutes, but if he didn’t, he didn’t.
