NEW: Mutineer Magazine
Available now is Mutineer Magazine, a new beverage magazine out of Los Angeles. Now me not being in LA might beg the question how I can review a limited distribution magazine; ’cause friendly readers they sent me a copy!
Issue 1 is $2.99. The rather trendy editor writes that “We are building a distribution list as we speak and have gotten a great response, it was just difficult to get the magazine into shops and stores prior to the first issue being released. Right now we have just over 1,000 paid subscribers and a controlled circulation of over 5,000.”
“The Mutineer is based on the idea that the world of wine, beer, spirits, and all fine beverages has been somehow perverted within the void that exists between maker and drinker. This is a void that has overstayed its welcome, and it is a void that has now found itself in our crosshairs.
It is of our opinion that the people, ideas, and culture surrounding the world of fine beverage are far more relevent and interesting than countless pages of beverage ratings. We, the Mutineer, will NEVER reduce something as complex and beautiful as a fine beverage to a mere number.”
Time to get your hands, LA-peeps, on a rather cool little mag. Complementing the content of The Spirit World very nicely (says me gunning for a free subscription and a writing gig!) contents of the first issue cover:

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first heart of this mag from a friend, until I found a PDF file of it floating around the internet and I was blown away. I subscribed after I read the PDF, and to clear something up .. the cover price is listed as $2.99, but on their website its only $10 for a YEAR. I can’t wait to see what the second issue has in store.
