Tastings for Wine & Spirits Magazine’s Top Of The List Event

Wine & Spirits Magazine will host its First Annual Top of the List Event, Tuesday, June 2nd.

The event benefits NY / NJ Baykeeper and is based on the W&S 20th Annual Restaurant Poll: Over 100 wineries will convene to pour the most popular wines served in America’s best restaurants, paired with specialties from some of NYC’s most esteemed chefs. The tasting happens at City Winery-the new live music space that holds the distinction of being Manhattan’s only winery.
In addition to the grand tasting, W&S Editors will lead three exclusive retrospective tastings: Far-coast pinot noir from Hirsh Vineyard and Flowers Vineyard (six vintages from each producer 1997 through 2006): eight vintages of Veuve Clicquot: four vintages of La Grande Dame (1998, 1990, 1998 Rosé, 1989 Rosé) and four older Clicquot vintages (1988 Rare, 1985,1985 Rosé and 1978 Rosé); and eight vintages of Dominus with Christian Moueix (2006,2005,2002,2001,1996,1994,1991,1989).

The event will commence with a keynote panel discussion about the last two decades in the restaurant business led by Joshua Greene, Publisher and Editor of W&S, joined by restaurateur Joe Bastianich of Bastianich & Batali Hospitality Group and Bernard Sun, Corporate Beverage Director of Jean-Georges Management. The Brooklyn Boogaloo Blowout Band will close out the night with a show for the evening’s featured winemakers, which all ticket purchasers are invited to attend.
